Details I want to share now so
I don’t forget!
Communication:
You
can coordinate rides
with each other by going to the blog and through the email group (or whatever.)
We will collect your cell
phone numbers and room numbers and give each of you this information.
We will have a cork
board in the Conference Room where changes and announcements can be
shared. It is a place where people can post notes to let others know what they
are doing and when/where. We imagine something like “Fly fishing lessons at 1:00 PM
today - meet in the lobby.” “Bird watching at 6:00 AM - meet at the
Conference Room.” Winery trip leaving
today at 2:00 PM - meet at the front door.”
Whale
Watching: The loading of the
boat, the trip and the unloading will probably take 2 1/2 hours overall. $18.00 each is
the fee regardless of the number of us want to do this. TradeWinds is the outfit right on Depoe Bay
near the Spouting Horn. We need to call
ahead to reserve space for our group. We
will ask you if you want to do this at the gathering on Thursday.
Crabbing:
We think 2:00 PM this is the right time of day for this -
the best crabbing is at slack tide (between the end of flowing in and the start
of ebbing out). You can either do it or watch others :o) License is $11.50 and the nets and bait can
be rented for $10.00 a day at Eleanor’s in Taft Harbor. (Look for a buxom
mermaid). Bring along some frozen chicken wings for extra bait; the rumor is
this is an especially tasty crab treat that lasts a long time.
Fly
Fishing: Equipment for fly
fishing lessons will be available
and you, of course, are welcome to bring your own rod and
reel. An
out-of-state
fishing license costs $16.50 for one day.
This can be purchased at Bi-Mart. If you are interested contact Dan at danwelsh@albany.twcbc.com.
These are some things you should bring with
you to the reunion - or not.
1. What to wear?
A rain jacket and umbrella (The weather at the Oregon coast in June is
very predictable. The temperature will
be between 50 degrees and 80 degrees. It
will be either rainy, windy, stormy or pleasantly sunny. Plan your wardrobe accordingly. Bring
comfortable, casual clothing (think layers); shoes that can go into sand/mud
and into the waves will be useful; a swimsuit would be appropriate if you
want to swim in the resort pools, :o)
2. A favorite family recipe
to contribute to the Huntington Family Cookbook. Everyone will get a copy of
everyone else’s recipes.
3. Think of something you would make for
the Pot Luck on Saturday (this could
be the same as the recipe but it doesn’t have to be.) (If making something for
the Pot Luck doesn't sound fun you are welcome to purchase something to share.)
4.
Suggested Condo Partners and suggested contribution to the Pot Luck - you
can switch with anyone. (No fair
switching food for people)

5. Bring

them.
6. Lynn is bringing the Auntie Alice photo book
(for Judy H.) Pat is bringing the Lola family photo book. Joyce is
bringing the Gerald family photo book. Judy W./Dani are bringing the
Clara family photo book. Thanks to all of you. Please also bring a 8X10 framed photo
to display.
7. If
you plan to share a talent on Saturday night don’t forget to bring what you
need. It is not a contest - just a way
to share our creativity and talents and only if you want to. Small and large talents are welcome! Be creative in what you call “one of your
talents.”
I am traveling for work in the next two weeks. If you have questions or comments you might
be better served by contacting Connie at cjamdtheboys@gmai.com. She will keep the team in the loop.
Looking forward to this fun!
